You’re warmly invited to join my free outdoor Tai Chi and Qigong sessions this spring and summer at Platinum Jubilee Park, Lonsdale Road, Formby.
Please note: This is an outdoor event with no shelter, and there are no toilets in the park.
If the weather is very cold, hot, windy, or otherwise unsuitable, the session will be cancelled for safety and comfort.
Dates For Your Diary:
International Taijiquan Day | Saturday 21 March 2026 | 10–11am
21 March is International Taijiquan Day, celebrating Tai Chi’s global value for health, balance, and inner peace.
Coinciding with the Spring Equinox, it’s a beautiful symbol of harmony and renewal — and a perfect way to begin our outdoor season together.
This will be our first outdoor Tai Chi and Qigong session of 2026, welcoming in the new season with gentle movement in the fresh air.
Next session:
Saturday 25 April 2026 – World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
We usually meet once a month on a Saturday morning from 10-11am during the warmer months. Further dates will be added as the season unfolds, so please check back nearer the time or feel free to message me to be kept informed.
Everyone is welcome — no experience is needed. Just come along and enjoy moving together in the fresh air.
Meeting Point:
Meet inside the park, just to the right of the main entrance, at 10am.
What to Expect:
Tai Chi and Qigong for Health are both gentle, flowing practices that combine mindful movement and breathwork. They help to:

Calm the mind
Improve balance and coordination
If you have any medical concerns about participating, please speak to your doctor before attending.
What to Bring:
Loose, comfortable clothing
Flat, supportive shoes (like trainers)
A drink
A sunhat — or a woolly hat, depending on the weather!
This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather.
Facilities:
There are no toilets at the park. The nearest public toilet is at Formby Pool, about a 5-minute walk away.
