Come along and enjoy my free outdoor tai chi and qigong events at Platinum Jubilee Park, Lonsdale Rd, Formby on Saturday 6th July, the 3rd August, and the 7th September from 10am – 11am. Meet inside the park, to the right of the entrance, at 10am.
Everyone is welcome, and no experience is necessary, so come along and join us in the park this summer. Tai Chi and Qigong for Health are both very gentle forms of exercise. They combine mindful movements and breath work to stretch and expand the body, release tension, calm the mind, and improve balance and dexterity. If you have any concerns about tai chi and qigong being safe for you to practise then please consult your doctor before the event.
Wear loose comfy clothing, flat supportive shoes such as trainers, and bring a drink and a sunhat with you. This is an outdoor event so dress for the weather!
Please note that no shelter is available, so if the weather is too wet, windy, or dangerously hot then the event will be cancelled.
Children are most welcome and should be accompanied by a participating adult.

How to find Us
Directions to Tai Chi Class at Platinum Jubilee Park
Platinum Jubilee Park, Lonsdale Rd, Formby, is a new park and is not yet available on map apps. To find the park easily, enter “Formby Little Theatre” into Google Maps or your sat nav and follow the directions.
Access to the Park:
- From Lonsdale Rd: The park can be accessed on foot.
- From Rosemary Lane: Follow the signposted footpath to Formby Little Theatre. Continue all the way down the footpath to the end.
Meeting Point:
- Meet us inside the park, to the right of the entrance, for 10am.
Parking Information:
- Street Parking: A small amount of free street parking is available on Lonsdale Rd, but it often fills up quickly. If driving, please allow extra time to find a parking space.
- Nearby Car Parks:
- Formby Pool: The nearest public pay-and-display car park.
- Holy Trinity Church: Do not park here; it is a private car park, and you will be fined.
Public Transport:
- Formby Train Station: The park is approximately a 10-minute walk from Formby Train Station, which also offers car parking.
